What is PH?

Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is a rare lung disorder in which the blood pressure in

the pulmonary artery rises far above normal levels. As the pressure rises, the walls of the network of blood vessels (pulmonary arteries) become thicker.

This abnormally high pressure is associated with changes in the small blood vessels

in the lungs.
Progressive narrowing of the vessels on the arterial side of the pulmonary circulation results in elevated pulmonary artery pressure and pulmonary vascular resistance,

which will eventually result in right heart failure.
